Autism Guernsey’s annual charity walk proved once again to be a great success, bringing together supporters, families, and friends for a morning of fresh air, shared purpose, and stunning St Martin’s scenery.
The event offered not only an opportunity to raise vital funds for the charity’s ongoing work but also a reminder of the importance of community coming together to raise awareness, support one another, and celebrate neurodiversity in Guernsey.
Participants enjoyed the scenic route through St Martin’s finishing at Sausmarez Manor, with many commenting on how much they appreciated the chance to walk together in such a supportive and inclusive environment.
One walker shared:
“I had a great time. I haven't walked on cliff paths for quite a few years, and it isn't something I'd feel safe doing alone now. It was wonderful to have this opportunity to enjoy the paths and gorgeous views.
I enjoyed last year's walk too. Hopefully there will be more walks like this for Autism Guernsey.”— S, Participant
David Harry, Chair of Autism Guernsey, said:
“It’s fantastic to see so many people taking part and supporting Autism Guernsey. Events like this are about more than just fundraising they’re about coming together as a community, raising awareness, and celebrating inclusion. We’re so grateful to everyone who took part, donated, or volunteered their time. Particular thanks needs to go to Micky Fooks who designed and led the walk and Peter de Sausmarez who gave us permission to start and finish at the Manor.”
The charity extends heartfelt thanks to all who joined the walk and helped make it such a memorable and meaningful event. Every step taken helps Autism Guernsey continue to provide essential support for autistic people and their families across the island.
💜 Together, we’re walking towards greater understanding and inclusion. #WalkForAutism
