Autism Guernsey has announced that the AG Night Ride 2026 has raised an incredible £8,500 to support the charity’s work with autistic people and their families across the island.

The event, held on Saturday 26 September, saw cyclists of all ages and abilities take to Guernsey’s roads, with riders choosing between 10, 25 and 50-mile routes starting and finishing at L’Ancresse Golf Club.

From families and casual cyclists tackling the 10-mile route to more experienced riders taking on the full 50 miles, the Night Ride brought the community together for an evening of cycling, fundraising and support for Autism Guernsey.

The £8,500 total includes funds raised through individual entries, corporate participation, sponsorship, donations and the event raffle, which was generously supported by local businesses.

Sean Cheong, Night Ride event lead, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the response to the AG Night Ride and to have raised £8,500 is a fantastic result. Just as importantly, it was wonderful to see so many people come together to support Autism Guernsey while having a great time on their bikes.”

“An event like this simply wouldn’t be possible without a huge amount of support. From our sponsors and volunteers to the local businesses that donated raffle prizes and everyone who signed up and rode on the night, we are incredibly grateful.”

The event was made possible with the generous support of The Northern Trust Guernsey Charitable Trust (Northern Trust), principal sponsor of the AG Night Ride, and ride sponsor BDO.

Dave Sauvarin, Head of Northern Trust, Channel Islands, said: “We were delighted to support the AG Night Ride and to see the Guernsey community get behind the event in such a fantastic way. Raising £8,500 is a brilliant achievement and a testament to everyone who took part, volunteered, donated or supported the ride.”

“Autism Guernsey has a meaningful impact on so many people across our community and we are very proud to have played a part in helping to make the Night Ride possible.”

Richard Searle, Managing Director at BDO Guernsey, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people come together for the Night Ride and we are incredibly proud to have supported the event. From families taking on the 10-mile route to those challenging themselves over 50 miles, there was a real sense of community throughout the evening.”

“Most importantly, the £8,500 raised will help Autism Guernsey continue delivering its invaluable services to autistic people and their families. Congratulations to everyone involved in making the event such a success.”

Andrew Warren, Chair of Autism Guernsey, said: “£8,500 is a tremendous amount for Autism Guernsey and will make a real difference to the services and support we are able to provide.”

“Demand for our services continues to grow and, as a charity, we rely heavily on fundraising and the generosity of the Guernsey community. The support shown for the Night Ride – from our sponsors, riders, volunteers, businesses and everyone who donated – has been fantastic.”

“We hope everyone who took part enjoyed the evening as much as we did, and we are enormously grateful to everyone who helped make the Night Ride such a success.”

Autism Guernsey provides services, activities and support for autistic children, young people, adults and their families. It costs more than £400,000 each year to run the charity, making fundraising events such as the AG Night Ride vital in helping it continue its work.
